Launch of the City Muslim Network

On the 11th December I was delighted to launch the City Muslim Network, one of the family of City Belonging Networks within the mayoral theme “Growth Unleashed”.

Hosted at Fidelity International, the event heard from insightful speakers including Sabine D from Fidelity, Bilal Mahmood from the City Mulim Network, Baroness Shaista Gohir OBE from the Muslim Women’s Network, Omar Salha from Ramadan Tent Project, and Sughra Ahmed from the ‘Faith in the City research and engagement project’.

This network will bring together representatives of Muslim communities at Square Mile workplaces, to:

- Create and promote opportunities for the community to meet one another through events and activities, and feel a sense of belonging.
- Support the City of London Corporation and other City institutions to be the best possible ally to the Muslim community.
- Promote engagement from members of the Muslim community in the civic and cultural life of the Square Mile.
